Estrella Sendra publishes an article in the Senegalese newspaper Le Soleil on the world première of Xale, the latest feature-length film by Moussa Sene Absa, at the BFI London Film Festival

Estrella Sendra, who recently joined the CMCI Department as Lecturer in Culture, Media and Creative Industries Education (Festivals & Events), has just published an article in the Senegalese newspaper Le Soleil, where she is a frequent contributor. The article is based on a video-recorded interview with Senegalese filmmaker Moussa Sene Absa, who was present at the BFI London Film Festival (5-16 October), for the world première of Xale, the last film of a trilogy entirely devoted to women’s destiny. The article can be accessed online here. The recorded interview, as well as an extract of this subtitled in English, has been published in ‘Conversations’, in the Screen Worlds: Decolonising Film and Screen Studies website, an ERC-funded project led by Prof Lindiwe Dovey (SOAS, University of London), where Estrella is an advisory board member.
