Greek Photography Opportunity

Our colleagues in the KCL Centre for Hellenic Studies are setting up an exhibition of photographs on loan from the Benaki Museum in Athens. The focus is on the pioneering Greek photographer Voula Papaioannou. The exhibition is called: “The Human Price of War” and coincides with the centre’s four day conference “Greek (Hi)stories through the Lens” which will take place at KCL this summer.

The organisers think this might provide an opportunity for MACCI students with an interest in Hellenic studies, photography, curating or gallery work to help arrange and set up the exhibition, which will run in the Great Hall from June 7 -13 2011.

If this sounds like you, contact Dr Eleni Papargyriou, Lecturer in Modern Greek Literature, Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies (eleni.papargyriou@kcl.ac.uk) or Dr Richard Howells here at CMCI.
